Don’t you just hate it when you forget a name of a long time acquaintance?  Maybe you ran into them at the grocery store or your kid’s soccer game so it was out of context, may be your mind went blank and you managed to cover it up—or not.

This is a popular supplement in Europe and the U.S. and it’s proven to enhance brain function in healthy people.  What’s not clear is if it helps people who are already suffering from the onsite of dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Studies show you need to take roughly 240 mg a day to see the results within 4-6 weeks.

Fish Oil

Fish oil is proven to soothe those frazzled nerve endings so you feel calmer. Better yet, it contains an essential oil for your brain. You’ve probably heard of omega 3 fatty acids.  These are essential nutrients for your brain. Scientists discovered your brain is made up of about 60% DHA.  But as you age, it loses it.

100 years ago your ancestors got their DHA from their diet.  Now the foods we eat have little if any of it available and the result is a dietary deficiency which can affect your brain.

One thing to consider is that in addition to being healthy brain pills, both gingko biloba and omega 3 fish oil are blood thinners.  This is great news if you want to prevent plaque build up in your arteries but they may interfere with some medications.
