memory-improvement-aMemory Improvement with Pills

Don’t you just hate it when you forget a name of a long time acquaintance?  Maybe you ran into them at the grocery store or your kid’s soccer game so it was out of context, may be your mind went blank and you managed to cover it up—or not.

Worse is when it happens at work.  Suddenly you can’t remember the name of someone you’ve worked with for the last three years.

Both are embarrassing and may have you wondering if there are healthy brain pills to help you get your memory back.

Aging Can Cause Memory Lapse

You probably suspected it but didn’t want to admit to it.  Yet, research shows your brain nerves are becoming more and more frayed with age which makes it hard for your brain to send messages from one part to another.

That can cause those short term memory lapses.

The other thing happening is your brain isn’t producing as many neruotransmitters.  These are the “message centers” in your brain and you have to receive a message to create one.  So, if your brain isn’t getting the message—that’s another transmitter you don’t have.

Over time, of course, these issues can become more serious than momentary forgetting names.  It can lead to dementia and Alzheimer’s.

What About the Healthy Brain Pills

Do they exist?  There are various herbal concoctions and supplements on the market claiming to improve your memory.

You may be familiar with Gingko Biloba, and Fish Oil.  These are some of the most popular ones.

Gingko Biloba

This is a popular supplement in Europe and the U.S. and it’s proven to enhance brain function in healthy people.  What’s not clear is if it helps people who are already suffering from the onsite of dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Studies show you need to take roughly 240 mg a day to see the results within 4-6 weeks.

Fish Oil

Fish oil is proven to soothe those frazzled nerve endings so you feel calmer. Better yet, it contains an essential oil for your brain. You’ve probably heard of omega 3 fatty acids.  These are essential nutrients for your brain. Scientists discovered your brain is made up of about 60% DHA.  But as you age, it loses it.

100 years ago your ancestors got their DHA from their diet.  Now the foods we eat have little if any of it available and the result is a dietary deficiency which can affect your brain.

One thing to consider is that in addition to being healthy brain pills, both gingko biloba and omega 3 fish oil are blood thinners.  This is great news if you want to prevent plaque build up in your arteries but they may interfere with some medications.

Do yourself a favor and little more about the health benefits of omega 3’s at my website where I share the information I’ve learned over the years.
